Hexidecimal - Reboot
Why I chose to make this costume:
Reboot has been my favourite cartoon ever since it came out and it's one of the big reasons I chose the career I did. Hexidecimal has always been one of my favourite characters and so naturally she was my first choice for a costume.
How I made this costume:
I bought the body suit from Value Village during their Halloween sale. The tights were bought at London Drugs, the Boustier & underwear was bought at Army and Navy, the garder belt was bought at La Senza. The boots were purchased from Spirit Halloween, the Mask, gloves and nails were from Halloween Alley and the cape was a dracula cape I bought at the dollar store and altered. I made the shoulder caps using wire, black broad cloth and lace. The cowel was made from red spandex. I attached velcro to the bottom of it so that it would attach easily to the body suit. I also added some green fabric to the mask eye holes.
Thoughts about this costume:
Overall I am happy how this turned out, and actually this gave me a reputation I was not expecting. I made a trip to Calgary to find out I was famous as the Vancouver Hexidecimal. This is one costume I totally plan to re-make now that I have better skills. I would make the body suit completely from scratch, with the cowel attached. Boustier, gloves and cape would all be made from scratch. I would like to do a molded face mask to actually look like the character using clay and plaster. I would also like to try my hand at making Scuzzi, her cat. Now to decided if I revamp the current Hex look or do I go for White Queen Hex...decisions decisions.
